Many dangers and challenges face inner city minority children during their after-school hours because of the demands of work and the low wages available in urban communities. Usually there is no adult at home when school is over. The neighborhoods are often plagued by gang violence and drug trade, which causes many parents not allowing their children to play outside. So, children are not getting social and emotional development opportunities.
Career Scholar offers an after-school program that provides children with a structured, safe, and relaxed atmosphere, where school aged children can complete homework, explore different careers and solve problems together. Our after-school program provides a nurturing environment that will promote social interaction, community integration, physical development, and intellectual growth.
